Понятия ценностей и этики в сестринском деле

1. Мотивация цели: основанием для овладения данной темы является использование иностранного языка как средства получения новой информации, связанной с медицинской тематикой, актуализация межпредметных связей, овладение соответствующим языковым материалом для обсуждения актуальных событий в медицине, а также перспектива использования приобретенных навыков и умений в профессиональных целях (умение говорить с коллегой, читать для расширения кругозора, писать иностранному коллеге)

СТУДЕНТ ДОЛЖЕН ЗНАТЬ:

- лексико-фразеологический минимум по теме;

Code of Ethics.

Sociologists have studied the characteristics of professions. They agree that some core characteristics are true for any profession. These include education, theoretical body of knowledge, the provision of a specific service, the autonomy of members, and a code of ethics.Nursing has had a code of ethics since 1903. The code of ethics describes the goals and values of the nursing profession and establishes a code of conduct by which nurses function. Ethical principles within the code provide a foundation for nursing practice. In addition, nurses incorporate their own values and ethics into their practice. Every nurse must remember that there are no two identical¹ people and that every patient will react² to illness in his own³ way.

When the client seeks help, the nurse discusses the nature of the problem and explains the services available. As the nurse-client relationship develops, the nurse helps the client to identify the problem and potential solutions. The nurse must be a good student in school.She must be healthy herself, eat in time, get plenty of rest and exercises, use good personal hygiene. She must be a happy person and must like people. When she is a student nurse, she weary⁵ a uniform. She is proud of her uniform and keeps it spotless⁷, so she always looks professional. She tries¹² to make a better person of herself. Every­body respects¹ her very much. In the morning she always comes into the ward with a smile on her face. And every patient when he sees her kind smile feels better. Everything she does in the ward she does quickly and quietly². If there is a bed-patient in the ward a nurse comes up to him. She brushes his sheets³ or changes them if it is necessary. She shakes his pillow⁴. Then she brings a ba­sin and washes the patient's face and hands. She is especially patient⁵ with old people. She makes injections, puts mustard plasters and cups. She never hurts her patient with a rude⁶ word.

Some Good Rules for Nurses

1. Read the order⁸ of the doctor before you give medicine?.
