Примечание. 1. Формы глагола: V - неопределенная форма, V_{2 -} форма простого прошедшего времени, V₃ - причастие прошедшего времени.

2. Прошедшее время стандартных глаголов образуется путем прибавления суффикса – ed и совпадает по форме с причастием прошедшего времени (Participle II).

3. Нестандартные глаголы образуют формы V₂, V₃ не по общему стандарту. Эти формы надо учить наизусть (таблица неправильных глаголов).

 

 

Настоящее неопределенное (простое) время

(Present Indefinite or Simple)

Настоящее неопределенное время обозначает следующее.

1. Регулярно совершающееся действие (usually, often, seldom, twice a week, sometimes, every day, as a rule, etc.)

Примеры: In summer Tom usually plays tennis twice a week. – Летом Том обычно играет в теннис дважды в неделю.

Most evenings my parents stay at home and watch TV. – Большую часть вечеров мои родители проводят дома перед телевизором.

2. Общие истины.

Примеры: The earth goes round the sun. – Земля вращается вокруг Солнца.

In Britain most of the shops close at 5.30 p.m. – В Великобритании большинство магазинов закрывается в 5.30 вечера.

 

Образование настоящего неопределенного времени

I / we / you / they + V: I write. We learn. You spea k. They drive.

He / she / it + V_s: He smokes. She paints. It rains.

 

В вопросительных и отрицательных предложениях используется вспомогательный глагол do / does:

Exercises.

I. Выучите наизусть рифмовку.

- Where does John live?

- He lives at the bank.

- Where does he study?

- He studies at the bank.

- Where does he spend all days, all nights?

- At the bank.

- Why does he spend all days, all nights at the bank?

- Because he loves his bank more than his wife and he loves his money more than his life.

 

II. Сделайте предложения отрицательными и вопросительными.

1. He takes English lessons.

2. She walks to the Institute.

3. We read up for exams.

4. “Students’ Spring” festivals take place every year.

5. Andrew reads newspapers in the evening, before going to bed.

6. The judge considers all evidence related to the case.

 

III. Раскройте скобки, используя вместо инфинитивов Present Simple. Объясните употребление настоящего неопределенного времени.

1. My elder brother (to go) to work every day.

2. The sun (to rise) in the East and (to sit) in the West.

3. Bad students never (to work) hard.

4. It often (to snow) in winter.

5. He (to wake up) at seven and (to have) breakfast at half past seven.

IV. Быстро прочитайте предложения, поставив подлежащее в 3-е лицо единственного числа и изменив форму глагола.

Model: My friends want to study French. –

My friend wants to study French.

1. They remember everything.

2. Students receive a lot of pleasure from the game.

3. Do these girls take part in the conference?

4. His friends work as investigators.

5. They live in small houses which have three rooms.

V. Употребите глагол в скобках в правильной форме.
