─ дати учням теоретичні та практичні поради щодо покращення правопису;

─ розвивати спостережливість, кмітливість, елементи самостійного логічного та аналітичного мислення;

─ розвивати пізнавальний інтерес до вивчення нових лексико-граматичних явищ, аудитивну пам'ять, увагу.

Spelling is an important part of writing. Knowing how to spell improves your ability to communicate important information and ideas. One way of practicing spelling is keeping a personal word list. If you do not know how to spell a word follow these steps:

· Write the word as you think you must spell it.

· Look up the word in the dictionary.

· Correct your spelling.

· Practice spelling the word several times.

Some riddles are funny because they are puns.Puns are made with words that have double meaning. Read the riddles below and then write the two meanings of each underlined words:

What has four legs and flies? (A picnic table.)

When is a piece of wood like a king? (When it is a ruler.)

Why dues the cow wear a bell? (Because its horns don’t work.)

d) Some puns are made with homonyms. These riddles and puns are not so funny in writing. You need to say them out loud in order to understand them completely:

A. Why don’t people ever become hungry in the Sahara desert?

B. Because of the sand which is there. (sandwiches)

B. When it is ajar. (a jar)
