Police detained a man with a telescopic-sighted rifle on a railway station in Kharkiv. Kharkiv. 28.03.2014

March 28, officers of the Ukrainian Security Service (USS) and the Ministry of the Interior detained 48-year-old Ukrainian citizen at railway station Kupyansk-Uzlovoy in the Kharkiv Region. They confiscated a small-bore riffle with telescopic sight and 17 cartridges for it. The man tried to leave for Kharkiv with the gun, the USS reports. The materials of the investigation launched in Ukrainian Criminal Rule 236 (illicit gun, ammunition or explosives keeping) are registered in the Single List of Prejudicial Inquiry.

1. Unknown men pelted a restaurant in Kiev with Molotov cocktails. Kiev, 28.03.2014

Unknown men threw several bottles with incendiary substance onto the roof of a restaurant’s summer veranda, web page 112.ua reports referring to the police.

It resulted in fire, which was put off in a few minutes. No one was injured. The fire damaged the roof of the building insignificantly.

The police have launched investigation in Ukrainian Criminal Rule 194, part 1 (intentional destruction or damage to property).

194. Unknown men threw a Molotov cocktail into the building of Donbas Industrial Union. Donetsk, 28.03.2014

Unknown men threw a bottle with incendiary substance into the building of Donbas Industrial Union in Donetsk. Ivan Prikhodko, Voroshilovsky District executive committee deputy chairman, wrote about it on his Facebook page.

Today at 2 a.m., a bottle with incendiary substance was thrown into a building in Shchors Street, 48. The security managed to take the fire under control. The building belongs to Donbas Industrial Union. In addition, an arson attempt was made today in Kobozeva Street, 3. The building belongs to Donetsk Metalurg Story. No property damage or victims were fixed.

It is worth mentioning that Sergey Taruta, one of the Donbas Industrial Union chiefs, heads the Donetsk Regional State Administration.

196. Luganskaya Gvardiya camp was attacked. The Lugansk Region, 30. 03.2014

Ocernight March 30, 20 masked armed men assaulted the Luganskaya Gvardiya camp, the web page Polemika.ua reports referring to Roman Kovalenko, an activist form Lugansk. The video tape is published in the Internet. Its lead says that people from the Luganskaya Gvardiya camp were beaten with bludgeons and tents were cut through and damaged. ‘At the time of the incident the nearby police patrols did nothing, the criminals are not detained yet. Several injured people are now in hospital with severe traumas of head and limbs,’ wrote Kovalenko.

197. A bottle with incendiary substance was thrown into the window of Sberbank of Russia. 30.03.2014

March 30, around 4 a.m. a fire started in Sberbank of Russia Sumy regional branch 3 in Gorkogo Street, 3a, the web page Lubimy Sumy reports.

The Sumy Regional Department of the Ukrainian Ministry of Interior press centre reports that according to the bank security service the fire started because of arson. The guards claim that an unknown man threw a bottle an unknown liquid into the building. The investigation of the facts is on.

According to the State Emergency Service Central Body in the Sumy Region, the incident ended in walls and cellar covered with soot and damage of up to 1m² of the floor. The fire was put down before the fire brigade arrived.

Five militants of the Right Sector beat unmercifully Petr Filonenko, a veteran of the WW2, in Kiev, Fishki.Net reports. Five members of the Right Sector knock him off his feet and began to beat. They beat him in arms and legs, as Petr Filonenko managed to covered his head with arms. It resulted in numerous bruises and two broken ribs.

1. The Right Sector opened gunfire in Khreshchatyk Street. Kiev, 31.03.2014

Three people, including Bogdan Dubas, the deputy head of the Kiev State Administration, were wounded in Khreshchatyk because of a skirmish near Independence Square (the Maidan), Arsen Avakov, the Minister of the Interior, reports.

‘Here is my report. A man called Orest, a member of the Right Sector opened gunfirenear Mafia café not far from the Maidan, eye-witnesses say. Three people are wounded, two of them are severely injured. Those who were wounded are two activists of Self-defence and Bogdan Dubas, the deputy head of the Kiev Administration. Reasons of the gun shot remain unknown. The victims are taken to hospital,’ wrote the Minister on his Facebook page.

According to Avakov, other activists locked the assailant in the men’s room of Mafia café.

‘Before the police arrived heavy armed the Right Sector activists had made a corridor in the crowd and escorted him to Dnepr Hotel,’ said Avakov.

‘How should the Minister react? Yes, he ordered to capture the gang. To detain suspects. All special forces were alerted. It’s my duty, the law says that. And tomorrow… tomorrow I will be ready both to leave the office if I have to and to struggle. I’m ready to oppose alone to all of them. If we are the majority – fine! Everything has its limits and time for clarity. I’m working over that,’ said the Minister.

Vladimir Bondarenko, the head of the Kiev State Administration (KSA), confirms that his first deputy Bogdan Dubas was injured.

‘Bogdan Dubas is wounded indeed. It happened near Mafia restaurant in Khreshchatyk. It’s an accident, the skirmish occurred between other people, and Dubas was just passing by,’ qouated Anna Kuzmanko her chief’s words to the Interfax-Ukraine news agency.

She said that the accident has nothing to do with destruction of the barricades. ‘There were no particular reasons, it’s just tough luck,’ said Kuzmenko referring to the head of the KSA.

She added also that Bondarenko had a phone talk with Dubas and the latter said that he was receiving the first aid and after bandaging he determined to go home.

Anatoly Medvid, one of the Maidan chief activists, had earlier reported that the deputy head of the Kiev State Administration was accidentally wounded in conflict in the centre of Kiev as well as a Maidan Self-defence activist.

‘Dabas Bagdan Iosiphovich accidently found himself in the place of argument of two Maidan activists. One of them came from the Right Sector and the other one was from Self-defence,’ told Medvid to the Interfax-Ukraine news agency.

He said that the ground of the argument remains unknown. In the course of the conflict one of them took out a gun and the other one took a gas bottle and atomized gas into the first man’s face. The altter began to shoot and it resulted in two men being injured – a Self-defence activist and Dubas.

Dubas was taken to hospital with a penetrating wound but as it was not dangerous for his life, he had already been discharged from hospital, said Medvid. The second victim still remains in hospital.

200. Medvezhya Dubrava resort is looted. The Zakarpattia Region, 31.03.2014

A huge property damage was revealed after the inventory in Medvezhya Dubrava resort guarded by the Right Sector. The press service of the Ministry of Interior says that the CEO of OOO Investing Company Sport-tur owning the resort reported about it when filing a report in the police. The CEO specified that 28 pictures and 6 icons which are historical and cultural values disappeared from Medvezhya Dubrava.

According to him the resort was guarded by activists of the Right Sector public movement From March 23 to March 26. The damage is estimated at 10ml hrivnias (about $900.000).

201. Privatbank is constantly assaulted. Kharkiv, 31.03.2014

Unknown people threw two Molotov cocktails into a ATM and a branch office of Privatbank, situated in a commuter belt of Kharkiv. Tatyana Tkachuk, a chief manager of a Privatbank regional press-service, the incident happened on Sunday. She also added that two more branch offices of Privatbank were attacked on Saturday in Moskovsky Avenue in the city centre, where hooligans tried to break the windows and set ATMs on fire. On Friday night earlier unknown people set on fire three more ATMs 9one of them in the centre and 2 in commuter belts).

203. A café owner hung out a Russia flag was beaten in Poltava. Poltava, 31.03.2014

A resident of Poltava was beaten unmercifully after he had hung out a Russian flag during sports translation in his café, VZ.RU reports.

In the evening March 12, six masked men armed with bludgeons and assault rifles first crashed Zolotchenko’s car, then burst into his house and beat with the rifle butts right in front of his wife and daughter. His wife called the police but they did not come. After the assault Zolotchenko began to receive threats and moved to Odessa with his family.
