13.5 Правила добавления окончания "-ING"к глаголам

1. Глаголы заканчивающиеся на "-E"

теряют последнюю "-e":

hope - hoping

date - dating

2. Глаголы заканчивающиеся на "-Y"

если перед "-y" стоит гласная или согласная, то "-y" сохраняется:

buy – buying

try - trying

study - studying

3. Глаголы заканчивающиеся на "-IE"

Меняйте "-ie" на "-y":

die - dying

lie - lying

4. Глаголы заканчивающиеся на две согласные:

Просто добавьте окончание "-ing":

start - starting

Глаголы заканчивающиеся на гласную и согласную следуют особому правилу.

односложные глаголы:

если перед гласной стоит согласная, то перед добавлением окончания последнюю согласную удваивают – stop - sto pp ing

если перед гласной стоит еще одна гласная, то в слове ничего не меняется (dream - dreaming)

двусложные глаголы:

если ударение падает на второй (последний) слог, то перед добавлением окончания последнюю согласную удваивают (prefer - prefe rr ing)

14.1 Возвратные местоимения ("myself," "yourself," "herself," etc.).

Возвратные местоимения образуются путем прибавления к объектным местоимениям и неопределенному местоимению “one” окончаний “-self” в единственном числе и “-selves” во множественном.

В русском языке они соответствуют:

· частице –ся (-сь), которая присоединяется к глаголам, показывая, что действие переходит на само действующее лицо.

· местоимению себя (себе, собой).

Look at yourself. – Посмотри на себя!

He bought himself a new coat. – Он купил себе новое пальто.

· усилению значения существительного (или местоимения)

I saw it myself – Я сам это видел.
