Animals:

1. Domestic pets and animals, except animals required for assistance, or law enforcement dogs, are not permitted on the airport unless being transferred or shipped, and then only if controlled and restrained by a leash, harness, or restraining strap, portable kennel or other appropriate shipping container.

2. Except for animals that are to be or have been transported by air and are properly confined for air travel, no person shall permit any wild animal under his or her control or custody to enter the Airport.

3. No person other than in conduct of an official act shall hunt, pursue, trap, catch, injure or kill any animal on the airport.

4. No person shall feed or do any other act to encourage the accumulation of birds or other animals on the airport.

5. It shall be the responsibility of the owner or handler to exercise control over the animal at all times. Owners or handlers are responsible for the immediate removal and disposal of animal waste.

Means of Air Travelling

Match the name of an air carrier with its explanation.

1. Seaplane / hydroplane a) a small plane with seats for no more than about six passengers
2. Glider b) a plane that can take off from and land on water
3. Helicopter c) a fast military plane designed to attack other aircraft
4. Hot-air ballon d) a light aircraft that flies without an engine
5. Light aircraft e) a large aircraft without wings, filled with a gas which is lighter than air, and driven by engines
6. Airship     f) an aircraft without wings that has large blades on top that go round. It can fly straight up from the ground and ition in the air
7. Fighter g) a large ballon made of strong material that is filled with hot air or gas to make it rise in the air, usually carrying a basket for passengers

Now define each means of air transport.

Role-play the situation.

Student A is a pilot of civil aviation.

Student B asks him among other questions the following ones:

· what type of aircraft he flies;

· what is the purpose of this aircraft (if it is a passenger or a cargo one);

· what are the advantages / disadvantages of this aircraft comparing to others of the same type;

· what the geography of his flights is;

· why he decided to become a civil pilot not a military one.
