Present Perfect Continuous вживається:

Для вираження дії, яка почалося в минулому, тривалоа протягом деякого періоду до теперішнього часу і все ще продовжується в даний час. У цьому значенні Present Perfect Continuous перекладається українською дієсловом у теперішньому часі:

She has been working here for five years. - Вона працює тут п'ять років.

(Вона почала працювати 5 років тому (дія, яка почалась в минулому), пропрацювала вже 5 років (вказівка на ​​період часу, протягом якого тривала ця дія) і продовжує працювати в даний час.)

How long have they been living in Moscow?

The Dnieper Hydro-Electric Station has been functioning since 1931.

Key words:

for... minutes (hours, weeks, months, years) - протягом... хвилин (годин, тижнів, місяців, років);

since 1950 - з 1950 р.

- дія почалась в минулому, триває дотеперішнього і відбувається в момент мовлення.

Present Perfect Continuous = Present Continuous?

Present Perfect Continuous завжди вказує чи має на увазі період часу, протягом якого дія тривала до теперішнього моменту.

- I have been reading the book for two hours. - Я читаю книжку дві години.

(На даний момент я читаю книгу. Я почав читати її раніше і читаю її вже дві години до теперішнього моменту.)

 

- I am reading the book. Я читаю книжку.

(На даний момент я читаю книгу. Я почав читати її раніше, однак, не зазначено, скільки часу я читав її до теперішнього моменту.)

 

Present Perfect Continuous = Present Perfect?

при вживанні Present Perfect Continuous підкреслюється процес дії, а при вживанні Present Perfect - факт вчинення дії, вираженого дієсловом:

For four years he has been working at his subject. - Він працює над своєю темою вже протягом чотирьох років.

 

I have lived here for four years. - Я живу тут чотири роки. (Я жив і живу тут.)

 

Present Perfect Continuous не вживається:

 

з дієсловами, що виражають почуття, сприйняття, а також з дієсловами to be, to belong, to consist. Замість Present Perfect Continuous в цих випадках вживається Present Perfect, який перекладається дієсловом у теперішньому часі:

Не has been here since 6 o'clock. - Він тут з шести годин.

We have not noticed any change in the tested bar for two hours. - Ми не помічаємо ніяких змін в випробовуваному бруску протягом двох годин.
