Who entertains the Vraja, Who has a face like a lotus flower,

Who pacifies Bala Rama and who carried a mountain.

जलधरद्युतिअङ्गं ललितत्रिभङ्गं बहुकृतरङ्गं रसिकवरं
गोकुलपरिवारं मदनाकारं कुञ्जविहारं गूढतरम् ।
वल्लभव्रजचन्द्रं सुभगसुछन्दं कृतआनन्दं भ्रान्तिहरं
भज नन्दकुमारं सर्वसुखसारं तत्त्वविचारं ब्रह्मपरम् ॥७॥

jaladharadyutia ṅ ga ṃ lalitatribha ṅ ga ṃ bahuk ṛ tara ṅ ga ṃ rasikavara ṃ
gokulaparivāra ṃ madanākāra ṃ kuñjavihāra ṃ gū ḍ hataram.
vallabhavrajacandra ṃ subhagasuchanda ṃ k ṛ taānanda ṃ bhrāntihara ṃ
bhaja nandakumāra ṃ sarvasukhasāra ṃ tattvavicāra ṃ brahmaparam..7..

 

Sing about that son of Nanda, who is essence of all pleasures,

Who is the inner meaning of religion and bridge to Brahman,

Whose limbs shine like a rich cloud, Who can be easily defeated by love,

Who lives in different places, who is a great connoisseur,

Whose family is in Gokula, Who looks like the god of love,

Who lives in kuncha, who is great in hiding himself,

Who is the moon of the vruja, who is like the pretty verse,

Who makes every one happy and who drives away illusion.

वन्दितयुगचरणं पावनकरणं जगदुद्धरणं विमलधरं
कालियशिरगमनं कृतफणिनमनं घातितयमनं मृदुलतरम् ।
वल्लभदुःखहरणं निर्मलचरणं अशरणशरणं मुक्तिकरं
भज नन्दकुमारं सर्वसुखसारं तत्त्वविचारं ब्रह्मपरम् ॥८॥

vanditayugacara ṇ a ṃ pāvanakara ṇ a ṃ jagaduddhara ṇ a ṃ vimaladhara ṃ
kāliyaśiragamana ṃ k ṛ tapha ṇ inamana ṃ ghātitayamana ṃ m ṛ dulataram.
vallabhadu ḥ khahara ṇ a ṃ nirmalacara ṇ a ṃ aśara ṇ aśara ṇ a ṃ muktikara ṃ
bhaja nandakumāra ṃ sarvasukhasāra ṃ tattvavicāra ṃ brahmaparam..8..

 

Sing about that son of Nanda, who is essence of all pleasures,

Who is the inner meaning of religion and bridge to Brahman,

Whose feet are fit to be saluted, who makes everything holy,

Who takes care of the world, who is carried in mind by pure people,

Who climbed up on the head of Kaliya, who is saluted by Adhi Sesha,

Who killed Kala yavana, who is extremely soft by nature,

Who steals away our sorrow, who has a very pure feet,

Who is the solace for the oppressed and who leads us to salvation.

भक्ताभिलाषाचरितानुसारी दुग्धादिचौर्येण यशोविसारी ।
कुमारतानन्दितघोषनारी मम प्रभुः श्रीगिरिराजधारी ॥१॥

bhaktābhilā ṣ ācaritānusārī dugdhādicaurye ṇ a yaśovisārī.

Bhakta = devotees

abhilasha = wishes

charitanusari = (charit+anusari) = performer of leelas in accordance

dugh =milk, butter

dhadi = curds etc

chaur = thief; yena = steals (one who steals)

Yash = Fame; ovishari = one who forgets (one who forgets one’s fame)

Kumaritanandit (kumari= youthfullness;anandit happiness etc) = one who gives happiness with the youthful leelas

Ghosh = vraj; Nari = women or ladies (The Vraj-Gopis)

Mam =mine (My)

Prabhu = Swami (Owner, husband)

Shri Girirajdhari = One (Shri Krishna) who lifts Shri Giriraj.

 

English Meaning

One who performs leelas in accordance to devotees wishes, who also steals milk, curd, butter etc. one who forgets His own fame and through his "Kumarleela" youthful leelas gives happiness to the vraj gopies, one who lifted Giriraj, is Shri Krishna who is my Swami. (1)

 

व्रजाङ्गनावृन्दसदाविहारी अङ्गैर्गृहाङ्गारतमोऽपहारी ।
क्रीडारसावेशतमोऽभिसारी मम प्रभुः श्रीगिरिराजधारी ॥२॥

vrajā ṅ ganāv ṛ ndasadāvihārī a ṅ gairg ṛ hā ṅ gāratamo'pahārī.
krī ḍ ārasāveśatamo'bhisārī mama prabhu ḥ śrīgirirājadhārī..2..

 

English Meaning

One who always plays in unison (together) with the Gopis of Vraj, by his physical divinity (permanently residing in devotees hearts, secretly) dispeller of darkness (ignorance) by the emotional ardour of the Leelas, who destroys the fever of separation is my Lord, Shri Krishna upholder of Shri Giriraj. (2)

 

vrajangana (vraj + angana) = the women of vraj (gopis)

vrind = together

sada = always

vihari = playful ones

anagaigruhagar = (angai + gruha +agaar) = by ones own physical divinity

tamophari = (tam + uphari) = one who dispels the dark

kridarasavesh = (krida+rasavesh) = with the emotional ardour of leelas

tamobhisari = (tam = abhisari) = destroys the fever of separation

 

वेणुस्वनानन्दितपन्नगारी रसातलानृत्यपदप्रचारी ।
क्रीडन्वयस्याकृतिदैत्यमारी मम प्रभुः श्रीगिरिराजधारी ॥३॥

English Meaning

By the sweet notes of His flute, He who pampers the wives of Kaliyanaga (The Cobra) pampers the peacocks, dances on the head of Kaliyanaga by the strokes of his feet, dances also on the lowest Patalok named Rasatal, poses Himself in outfit of Gopa during their play and the killer of Giants is our Lord Shri Krishna the upholder of Shri Giriraj. (3)

Venurawanandit =Gave pleasure by the notes of venu (flute)

Panngari = women/wifes of Nagas (Kaliya) (Cobra)

Rasatala = Lowest Patal Lok (Above the head of Kaliyanaga)

Nritya = to dance

pad = feet

prachari = on his

nrityapadprachari = danced on his feet

Kridan = playing

Vayasyakruti (Vayasa+Aakruti) = Having come with outfit of Gopa.

Daitya = Giants

Mari = to kill

Daityamari =Killer of giants.

 

पुलिन्ददाराहितशम्बरारी रमासदोदारदयाप्रकारी ।
गोवर्धने कन्दफलोपहारी मम प्रभुः श्रीगिरिराजधारी ॥४॥

pulindadārāhitaśambarārī ramāsadodāradayāprakārī.
govardhane kandaphalopahārī mama prabhu ḥ śrīgirirājadhārī..4..

 

Pulind = Bhil (Aadivasi)

dhara = women (wives)

hit = Good, Betterment

Shambrari = The killer of demon Shambar

Rama = Goddess of wealth

Samodar = (Sam + Udar) = Real, Noble

Dayaprakari = made mercifully.

Goverdhane = Above mount Goverdhan

Kand Falopahari = (kand+fal+uphari) = One who eats kand and fruits etc

 

कलिन्दजाकूलदुकूलहारी कुमारिकाकामकलावितारी ।
वृन्दावने गोधनवृन्दचारी मम प्रभुः श्रीगिरिराजधारी ॥५॥

kalindajākūladukūlahārī kumārikākāmakalāvitārī.
v ṛ ndāvane godhanav ṛ ndacārī mama prabhu ḥ śrīgirirājadhārī..5..

 

English Meaning.

For the betterment of Aadivasis (Bhil) women who stayed in the jungles of Shri Girirajji, Shri Krishna who killed the devil named Shambar and made them equivalent to Goddess of wealth (Laxmi) just most nobly and mercifully. He ate the kand and fruit (Dry Fruits etc) brought by them on the mountain of Shri Giriraj. Such is my Swami Shri Girirajdhari Shri Krishna. (4-5)

 

Kalindjakul = (Kalindaja + Kul) On the bank of Shri Yamuna

Dukulhari = The person who steals away the clothings of Gopis.

Kumarika = unmarried Gopis staying at Nandraiji’s house

Kaam = love

Kalavitari = Increasing

Vrindavane = In Vrindavan

Godhanvrundchari = One who takes the cows for grazing.

 

व्रजेन्द्रसर्वाधिकशर्मकारी महेन्द्रगर्वाधिकगर्वहारी ।
वृन्दावने कन्दफलोपहारी मम प्रभुः श्रीगिरिराजधारी ॥६॥

vrajendrasarvādhikaśarmakārī mahendragarvādhikagarvahārī.
v ṛ ndāvane kandaphalopahārī mama prabhu ḥ śrīgirirājadhārī..6..

 

Vrajendra (vraj +Indra) = King of Vraj

Sarvadhik (sarva + adhik) = More than everything

Sharmakari = giving peace

Mahendra = Indra

Garvadhik (Garva + adhik) = Too much proud

Garvhari = remover of pride

Vrundavane = In Vrindavan

Kand Falopahai = One who eats kand and fruits

 

मनःकलानाथतमोविदारी वंशीरवाकारिततत्कुमारिः ।
रासोत्सवोद्वेल्लरसाब्धिमारी मम प्रभुः श्रीगिरिराजधारी ॥७॥

mana ḥ kalānāthatamovidārī va ṃ śīravākāritatatkumāri ḥ.
rāsotsavodvellarasābdhimārī mama prabhu ḥ śrīgirirājadhārī..7..

 

Manah = mind

Kalanath = moon

Tamovidari = Remover of darkness (Remover of Mental Ignorance)

Vanshiravakarit = One who calls by the notes of the flute.

Tatkumari = young gopies

Rasotsavodwell = The color of the festival names Raas

Rasa bdisari = As good as occean of lovingness

 

मत्तद्विपोद्दामगतानुकारी लुठत्प्रसूनाप्रपदीनहारी ।
रामोरसस्पर्शकरप्रसारी मम प्रभुः श्रीगिरिराजधारी ॥८॥

mattadvipoddāmagatānukārī lu ṭ hatprasūnāprapadīnahārī.
rāmorasasparśakaraprasārī mama prabhu ḥ śrīgirirājadhārī..8..

 

Matt = proudy

Dwipoddam = dwip + Uddam = big elephant

Gatanukari = walking with speed like that

Lunthat = accepted

Prasuna = flowers

Prapdinhari = worth hanging garlands (Malas)

Ramoras = on the heart of Laxmanji

Sparsha = touching

Karprasari = spreading hands

Mam = my, mine

Prabhu = Husband, Lord

Girirajdhari = Lord Krishna who upholds Shri Girirajji
