This is my family: my wife, my son, my daughter and I. My name’s Peter Black. I am forty. My wife’s name is Helen Black. She is thirty-two. We have two children, a boy and a girl. The boy’s name is John. He is twelve years old. He is a schoolboy. He does well at Geography, Math, History and Literature. Also he is fond of sports: he plays football, volleyball, he does swimming and skating. My daughter’s name is Mary. She is very young. She is only five.

I am an electronics engineer. I work at a large factory. We live near the factory, so I can walk there. My working day starts at nine o’clock. I have lunch at half past twelve in our canteen. Then I work till six p.m. After work I come home and have dinner with my family.

My wife is a teacher. She works at school. She has a lot of work to do and she is always up to her ears in teaching, but she never forgets about our family. She cooks and does a lot of work around the house. I love my wife very much.

We have a world of relatives: cousins, uncles, and aunts. My parents are sixty years old. They are farmers and live in the country. We often visit them and spend much time in the country in summer.

Helen’s father is fifty-six and mother is fifty-three. Helen’s sister Ann is her best friend. She is single and lives alone just across the street from us. Ann is twenty-six. She is a shop-assistant. She has a heart of gold and she is fond of our children.

My hobby is photography. It’s very expensive but it’s a lot of fun. My wife’s hobby is knitting and embroidering. She makes many nice things. My daughter’s hobby is dancing. She does it practically all the time.

I love my family very much and I know that East or West, but home is best.
