Let’s talk about your career. What would you like to do in future?

As you know, our modern world makes a person be flexible and mobile, creative and inventive. Modern life makes a person broaden his horizons, use modern technologies and learn foreign languages. To get knowledge people need education, they need to turn theory into practice. Nowadays good education means a good job.

I am leaving school soon and I’m thinking about possible careers and jobs. It’s very difficult to choose your future career because there are many alternatives and you don’t know where to start.

We usually say that all roads are open before our school-leavers. While at school I have changed my mind a lot of times.

Some pupils choose their future profession under the influence of their parents or friends. In my opinion, the final choice should depend on what you are interested in. For me, interesting and creative work is the most important thing. I want to enjoy my work and get satisfaction from it. And the same time I’d like to have a well-paid job.

I made my choice last year. I want to enter The Belarusian State University. I am going to be a lawyer. Lawyers don’t only punish people for different crimes but try to prevent them. They help people to find the right road in life. The lawyers protect the rights and interests of citizens and organizations.

I’d like to be a journalist. They tell people the truth and provide them with news and true information. A journalist must be interested in many subjects and must be a well-educated person. They try to solve different problems with the help of mass media.

I have decided to become an economist for many reasons. Firstly because of the economic situation in our country good experts are always required at all enterprises. Secondly, at school I liked lessons of mathematics and the English language most of all, what, in my opinion, it is necessary for my future speciality. I hope I’ll be able to get profound knowledge and practical skills when I become a university student. My true desire is to contribute to the process of bringing Belarus to market economy and turning it into a country with a high living standard.

I want to become a computer programmer. I am interested in computers. It is a whole new world. My favourite subjects in school are mathematics, physics, and, of course, computer science. My hobby is computer games and computer programming. I have a computer at home and can spend hours working at it. It is much easier to do things on computer, for example to write a composition. You can change the text as many times as you want and you don't need to rewrite everything if you changed something.

I think that the profession of programmer can give many opportunities. Computers are the most rapidly changing sphere of modern technology. We are living in the age of information. And I think that the future is just filled with computers. So after I finish school I want to enter the university and study computer science.

I want to work in an advertising company. Advertising products and services is very important for modern society nowadays. It helps people to make the right choice and to save money at the same time.

I want to be an engineer. They say that it’s a difficult profession and it requires good knowledge of physics and mathematics. I’m ready to give it a try. My teachers also say that I’m rather good at this field. I have analytical skills, logical thinking and I’m attentive to details. The school subjects that I’m good at are algebra and geometry. My father says that engineers need excellent technical knowledge, so he helps me with that. Moreover, strong computer skills are required, as most of the equipment today is computerized. If I become a mechanical engineer, I will definitely have to deal with machinery and software programs for problem solving. If I manage to enter the Technological University, I will have to study for 5 years to become a professional engineer. In my opinion, engineering is a great profession. It gives lots of opportunities for development and self-growth. There are so many interesting fields that I can choose from, such as civil engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering etc.

I have a dream to be a doctor. This is an interesting and noble profession. I want to help people who face health problems. Doctors should be kind and attentive to people. It’s one of the most demanded professions in the world.

I will become the police officer. It seems to me, it is very important profession. After all it is necessary to keep order on streets and in public places, to protect people from rude fellows.
When the person gets to trouble when something threatens his life, he comes for the help to police officers. If the child is gone, the police can help. If robbed - too. Almost police officers can help with any trouble. And it is very important that to this profession there would be honest and responsible people who will fall in love with this work. I consider that I will be able not to dishonor official authority.
Thanks to my profession life in the country can become better and easier. And I am glad that I will be able to take in it part.

I’d like to be a teacher. Teaching can be called the greatest of the arts. It’s a great responsibility to bring up children. Teachers should be well-educated and well-informed. They help their pupils to understand the world we live in.

Luckily my main interest is not money but the belief that my profession is very important for our society. This noble profession demands constant creativity and erudition. I think I will do my best to be tactful, self-confident and objectively-minded. Of course, to become a good specialist I should be devoted to my profession. I should be persistent and hard-working.

In conclusion I should say that working is the best way through which people can be helpful and they can enjoy life.
