‘You can dream of such things which you cannot even think of!’ Dear friends, You have already learnt that at university all members of the community are directly interacting at different levels. The academic staff are interacting within themselves, with students and with other parties of the university community. Students are actively involved within their group but also with the academic staff and their direct administration. This sort of interpersonal communication at university is restricted by specific rules which are already familiar to you. Meanwhile, within the academic activities proper the main interaction is happening between studies and research. To make this latest interaction effective university members are to realize their own interests and needs, to evaluate the other interacting party, its conditions, goals and ways. So, they need to think in a scientific way, analyzing not only communicants and their aims but also the very topic of communication. They are to approach the very aim of communication in the best way possible. You’ll definitely manage all this as in Section 2C you are to learn about different types of thinking and their influence on people's communication. You will learn how to specify objects and subject-matters of your research or any other educational activity, how to set objectives and aims at your study or research together with finding the proper methods for their achievement. With all the tasks in this section done you will look at yourself, the disciplines you study, and your studies in general from professional point of view. So, dear colleagues, welcome to Section 2C!
