Technical requirements for «Russian Squat» equipment.



7.8.1. Barbell. Neck (L - 2.20 m., Diameter of landing sleeves -50 mm.) And discs (inner diameter 51 mm.) It can be used both allowed for powerlifting and weightlifting. The neck should have a good notch or cut.

7.8.2. The use of locking locks is mandatory, the weight of each of which should be 2.5 kg. It is necessary to use standard color discs at all official competitions, the use of discs of the same color is allowed at qualifying tournaments. The use of fixing clips, spring type is prohibited!

7.8.3. Racks with additional safety stops are used, allowing each athlete to change the height of the stops for the bar and the safety level. Racks should be installed on a flat non-slip horizontal surface, on a special platform for weightlifting or powerlifting.

7.9. Division of athletes into weight categories in the «Russian Squat» division made in accordance with paragraph 9 of Chapter 1 of these Rules.

Chapter 8. Equipment and inventory of the competition.

8.1. The exercise is performed on a platform with a minimum size of 2.5 x 2.5 m or on a flat, solid, stable surface covered with a uniform non-slip material.

8.2. Neck (L - 2.20 m., Diameter of landing sleeves -50 mm.) and discs (inner diameter 51 mm.)It can be used both allowed for powerlifting and weightlifting. The neck should have a good notch or cut. The use of locks is mandatory, the weight of each of which should be 2.5 kg. It is necessary to use standard color discs at all official competitions, the use of discs of the same color is allowed at qualifying tournaments.

8.3.The racks  for bench press should be at a distance of at least 1 m. from each other, to ensure the stability of the structure, not to interfere with athletes and assistants, and also allow to vary the height of the bar installation in increments of 5 cm.

8.4. The bench for bench press should be stable, smooth and horizontal. Two types of benches are used.

8.4.1. The first type of bench is designed for athletes of the LPC (with limited physical abilities). The bench should be at least 2100 mm long, the main part of the bench should be 610 mm wide, but at a distance of 705 mm from the edge towards which the athletes are facing, the width should be reduced to 280-320 mm, leaving two identical ledges on each side. The height from the floor surface to the top of the uncompressed pillow should be at least 420 mm and not more than 500 mm.

8.4.2. The second type of bench is designed for all athletes. It must have a length of at least 1,350 mm, a width of 280-320 mm and a height of 420 - 450 mm from the floor surface to the top of the uncompressed pillow portion.

8.5. It is allowed to use additional supports for legs, rubber mats or discs from the bar. The total height of the stands should not exceed the height of the bench.

           Chapter 9. Participants.

9.1. Responsibilities and rights of competitors.

9.1.1. The participant must:

- know and strictly abide by these Rules and Regulations on competitions;

- be polite and correct in relation to all participants, the team of judges, the persons conducting and serving the competition and the spectators;

- Perform in a neat tracksuit;

9.1.2. Participants are prohibited from:

- lubricate the back with greasy or sticky substances;

- apply coloring on the back (except for the tattoo);

- allow incorrect expressions and gestures addressed to the opponent, his coach, referees, spectators, organizers of the competition.

9.1.3. The participant has the right:

- Through the team representative, team captain, personal representative registered by the credentials committee, or in person (during personal competitions) to contact the team of judges. The order of circulation should be stipulated in the regulation on the conduct of competitions;

- No more than once before each exit to the platform, ask the chief judge to replace any of the judges serving the bout;

- Before starting weighing, undergo a weight control on the official weighing scale.

9.2. Form and equipment of the participant.

9.2.1. A distinctive feature of the performance in the competitions of the Federation of the Russian Press is the allowed performance without clothes of the upper body for male participants: either with a naked torso, or using a press, wrestling, weightlifting tights, or in a T-shirt.

9.2.2. For sanitary and hygienic reasons, the organizers of the competition are obliged to wipe the surface of the bench for bench press with alcohol or sanitary napkin before each participant speaks. After this operation, the surface of the bench should be dry.

9.2.3. The clothes of the lower body are arbitrary, but athletic, tight-fitting the pelvic region, since in the event of a disputed moment “Tearing off the pelvis” with the athlete’s sagging clothes, the judges are recommended to make a decision: “Athlete’s mistake”.

9.2.4. Athletes with metallic impurities on sportswear or shoes (straps, heels, spikes, etc.) that can ruin the bench surface for bench presses are not allowed to compete.

9.2.5. It is allowed to use any type of bandage applied on the wrists and not exceeding a length of 1.0 m each or wristbands.

9.2.6. It is allowed to use lap belts and belts, provided that the clasp is used in front or side, but not on the back. No more than one at a time.

9.2.7. It is forbidden to use gloves, pads for brushes, as well as various hooks and straps for rods, except for special prostheses for athletes with disabilities (amputees).

9.2.8. It is forbidden to use tape (sports tape) on the body above the waist, neck and arms - an adhesive tape made of fabric resembling adhesive plaster.

Chapter  10. The team of judges, and the duties of judges.

10.1. The composition of the team of judges.

10.1.1. For competitions of national and higher level.

The team of judges is appointed as follows:

- The chief judge of the competition;

- Secretary of the competition;

- The senior judge on the platform (platforms);

- A side judge on the platform.

10.2. The chief judge of the competition.

10.2.1. Duties of the chief judge of the competition:

- check the suitability of the premises, equipment, inventory, necessary documentation, their compliance with these Rules;

- supervise the conduct of competitions in accordance with these Rules and the regulations on the conduct of competitions;

- check and approve the composition of participants for each category;

- to distribute the judiciary according to shifts and platforms;

- control the refereeing procedure and correct the errors of judges;

- make decisions on applications received from participants or team representatives immediately after they have been submitted. A decision on the outcome of the approach should be made before the start of the next category;

- hold meetings of the team of judges before and after the competition, as well as in cases when it is necessary during the competition.

10.2.2. The chief judge of the competition has the right:

- cancel the competition or lower the status of the competition - if at the beginning  equipment or inventory will be unsuitable and with the impossibility of quick replacement;

- stop the competition or take a temporary break for any reason that impedes the normal conduct of the competition;

- make changes to the program and schedule of the competition, if this is absolutely necessary;

- to carry out the movement of judges during the competition;

- remove from work judges who commit gross errors or fail to cope with their duties;
- replace the judge’s candidacy, at the request of the participant, with another candidate at his own discretion, or perform his duties himself;

- to remove from the competition participants who allow rudeness, bickering with judges or other misconduct prohibited by law or the Russian Federation Press Rules.

- delay the announcement of the results and make a final decision after further discussion if he does not agree with the decision of the senior judge on the platform;

- change the sequence of performances, if necessary.

10.3. Secretary of the competition.

10.3.1. The secretary of the competition checks the profiles of the athletes, keeps the minutes of the tournament and the meetings of the team of judges.

10.3.2. Together with the senior judge on the platform, the competition secretary draws a draw before entering the Document.

10.3.3. The secretary of the competition draws up a preliminary order of the participants.

10.3.4. The competition secretary draws up orders and decisions of the chief judge of the Russian bench competition.

10.3.5. The competition secretary accepts the applications, registers them and submits them to the chief judge of the competition.

10.3.6. The competition secretary shall keep all referee documentation for the tournament.

10.3.7. The secretary of the competition leads the secretariat of the tournament.

10.3.8. The secretary of the competition with the permission of the chief judge of the competition passes the information to the correspondents.

10.3.9. The competition secretary is preparing the tournament documentation.

10.4. Senior judge on the platform.

10.4.1. Together with the competition secretary, the senior judge on the platform conducts a toss before entering the Document.

10.4.2. The senior judge on the platform supervises the performance of the athletes and monitors his conduct in strict accordance with the rules of the competition.

10.4.3. The chief judge on the platform is located to the left (right) of the auditorium behind the head of the athlete, who is in the starting position for the bench, so as not to interfere with the audience.

10.4.4. The senior referee on the platform gives the order to start the competition exercise to the participant after he takes the starting position.

10.4.5. The senior judge on the platform keeps score and notes the mistakes of the competitor during the competitive exercise.

10.4.6. The chief judge on the platform determines the results of the speech, except when applications for protest are submitted.

10.4.7. The senior judge on the platform announces the end of the approach and its results.

10.4.8. The head judge on the platform stops the participant’s performance if:

- the participant violated the Rules more than two times in a row, and it is necessary to make an official warning;

- the participant is injured during the performance;

- it is required by the chief judge of the competition;

10.5. Side judge on the platform.

10.5.1. A side judge on the platform evaluates the actions of athletes and ensures that the performance is in accordance with these Rules.

10.5.2. In all cases, violation of the rules for performing the exercise, the side judge on the platform gives an active signal to the senior judge on the platform with a gesture (arm raised up - “Athlete's mistake!”).

10.5.3. The side judge on the platform is located closer to the legs of the athlete, who is in the starting position for the bench.

10.5.4. The main direction for which the side judge on the platform is responsible is the separation of the pelvis.

10.5.5. Carries out the timing of the approach.

a) The stopwatch is started after the command of the senior judge on the platform “Bench Press!” which marks the beginning of the competitive exercise.

b) At the expiration of the 5 minutes allotted for the competitive exercise (limit), the side judge clearly and loudly gives the command: “Time” and raises his hand for additional attention of the senior judge on the platform.

Chapter 11. The weighing and drawing procedure.

11.1. The first weigh-in is carried out no earlier than 2 hours and ends no later than 30 minutes before the start of the competition of each stream. If the competitors are divided into different streams and the start time of each stream is different, then the participants of the “later” stream have the right to weigh themselves while weighing the “first” streams on this day.

11.2. When passing the registration and weighing procedure, the participant is obliged to present a document with a photo proving his identity and a completely filled out official questionnaire of the participant in the competition (see appendix Nos. 1, 2 to these rules). Members of the Federation of the Russian Press should provide a membership card of an established form with a coupon for the payment of annual fees.

11.3. Participants in the age categories “Junior- Boys - 1”, “Junior- Boys - 2”, “Boys”, “Juniors”, “Veterans - 1”, “Veterans - 2”, “Veterans - 3”, “Veterans - 4”, “ Veterans - 5 "have the right to declare participation in another category suitable by age and gender without additional weighing, or undergo the weighing procedure again at their own request, if the categories are carried out in accordance with the Competition Regulations on the same day.

In the Classic Russian Bench Press (CRBP) and the Bench Press Marathon (BPM), when registering records, a “direct count” is allowed, during which the athlete can be counted in the lighter weight of the barbell category the number of repetitions performed by him in a heavier category.

11.4. When undergoing the weighing procedure, athletes with pathological changes in the elbow joints of the hands that interfere with their full straightening are required to undergo an examination by a medical professional or a person appointed by the chief judge of the competition. It is necessary to make appropriate entry in the participant's profile.

11.5. The sequence of athletes in the category of the classic Russian Bench Press is determined by drawing lots.

11.6. The sequence of performance of athletes in the category of a Bench Marathon is determined by the number of repetitions. Athletes are recorded in descending order of repetitions.

11.7. The sequence of athletes in the “Baker's Dozen” division is determined by the declared weight of the bar from the smallest weight in the stream to the largest. With a change in the declared weight in the following approaches, the sequence of athletes on the platform may change.

 Chapter 12. Errors of the athlete during the exercise, Russian Bench Press and the team of a senior judge on the platform.

12.1. Beginning of the exercise (lowering the bar) to the judge's command “Bench Press!” - the judge’s team “Stop!”, this command can be used by the senior judge on the platform when the athlete performs repeated (more than two) frequent repetitions without proper fixation of the projectile at the top - repetitions performed in violation are not counted;

12.2. Bench press without touching the bar of the chest (see paragraphs 23.1. - 23.4. Chapters 10. of these rules) - the “Chest!” Command - repetitions performed in violation are not counted;

12.3. The final position of the bar at the top (fixation), without proper straightening of both hands in the elbow joints, less than when taking the starting position, the command "Elbows!" and repetitions performed in violation are not counted;

12.4. Pelvic abstraction during bench press up - “Pelvis!” Command - repetitions performed in violation is not counted, however, the pelvis can be torn off in a competitive approach at the time of rest, for example, to change the position of the body.

12.5. It is forbidden to embrace the construction of the bench with your feet; repetitions performed in violation are not counted.

12.6. It is forbidden to put feet on the surface of the bench during the upward phase of the bench - repetitions performed in violation are not counted.

12.7. If at the time of the "rest-pause on the chest" barbell bar leaves the limits specified in paragraph. 23.1. - 23.4. Chapter 10. of these rules, the senior judge gives the command “On the chest”, after which the athlete must immediately independently return the barbell to the limits specified by the rules.
12.8. If, in the situation provided for in clause 7. of Chapter 13. of these rules, the athlete does not take action to rectify the situation, the senior judge gives the “Racks” command and stops the approach.
12.9. During the execution of the "rest-pause on the chest" it is forbidden to tear off the hands from the working surface of the bar neck.

12.9.1. If the athlete has violated the requirements of clause 9. of Chapter 11. of these rules, the senior judge on the platform must give the command: “Contact!” or "Grip!".

12.9.2. If the side judge noted that the athlete has violated the requirements of paragraph 9. of Chapter 11. of these rules, he must give the command: “Contact!” or "Grip!". The head judge duplicates this order.

12.10. In case of exceeding the allowed grip width that occurred during the competitive approach, the judge on the platform gives the command “-Grip!” to indicate to the athlete the need to independently restore the previous width.

12.11. If the athlete does not respond to the “-Grab!” Command, the judge on the platform must give the command “-Stop!” and indicate to the athlete to independently restore the previous grip width with the command “-Grip!” - repetitions performed in violation are not counted.

12.12. If the athlete does not respond to the judge’s commands more than two times in a row, the senior judge on the platform gives the command “Racks!” and the counted number of repetitions (at least 8) is entered in the competition Document.

Chapter 13. The procedure for protesting the results of a competitive approach.

13.1. Filing an application (protest).

13.1.1. Protests must be justified by reference to the clause of these rules.

13.1.2. Protests are accepted by the secretary only from representatives of the team (registered by the credentials committee and participating in the meeting of the team of judges) and representatives or participants of the competition

13.1.3. Statements (protests) based on the results of the performance are submitted by the representative to the panel of judges through the competition secretary in writing.

13.1.4. To submit an application (protest), the team representative or participant must make an oral statement to the secretariat immediately after the end of the competitive attempt, before the start of the next one.

13.1.5. A written application along with a cash deposit must be submitted to the secretariat within 10 minutes after the oral application.

13.1.6. The amount of the security deposit when applying (protest) is determined by the regulation on the competition.

14.2. The order of consideration of the application.

13.2.1. If the application is accepted for consideration, the chief judge creates an appeal commission, at his discretion, from among the neutral judges, with an odd number of members.

13.2.2. In the work of the appeal commission, both video materials of technical shooting and video materials from other sources can be used.

13.2.3. At the end of the work, the appeals commission informs the head judge of its decision.

13.2.4. If the application is deemed unreasonable, then the security deposit will not be returned.

13.2.5. If another decision is made upon application, the pledge shall be returned to the athlete who made it or to the team representative.

13.2.6. The chief judge, referees, team representatives, participants, coaches; spectators are required to obey the decision of the appeal commission.

Chapter 14. Determination of the winner in the team classification.

14.1. To determine the results of the team standings, the points of each team member are summed up for the place taken in the individual standings:

 

1st place - 12 points;

2nd place - 10 points;

3rd place - 9 points;

4th place - 8 points;

5th place - 7 points;

6th place - 6 points;

7th place - 5 points;

8th place - 4 points;

9th place - 3 points;

10th place - 2 points;

 

14.2. All competitors who take places below the 10th get one point for the team standings.

14.3. The team with the highest total points becomes the winner.

14.4. In the case of two or more teams having equal points, the team with the highest number of places will take the highest place. If in this case the indicators are the same, then the highest place is occupied by the team with a large total tonnage.

14.5. The number of credited team members (nominees) is agreed upon in advance by the organizers of the competition.

Chapter 15. Registration of records of "Federation of Russian Bench Press":

15.1. Records are registered only for current members of the Federation of Russian Bench Press in official tournaments not lower than the master`s level by prior approval of the Regulations on the tournament.

15.2. Records are recorded in the event of a test attempt by an athlete in official competitions held under the auspices of the Federation of Russian Bench Press, for any age category and for all lighter weight categories.

15.3. For age categories of athletes (athletes) who have not reached the age of 40, records of younger categories exceeding records in older categories are recorded in older categories up to an open category in men (women).

15.3.1. Record holders (record holders) of the category “Junior- Boys - 1” (“Junior- Girls - 1”) can become champions in the categories: “Junior- Boys - 2” (“Junior-Girls - 2”); “Boys” (“Girls”); "Juniors" ("Juniors"); “Men” (“Women”) - open classification.

15.3.2. Record holders (record holders) of the category “Junior- Boys - 2” (“Junior- Girls - 2”) can become champions in the categories: “Boys” (“Girls”); "Juniors" ("Juniors"); “Men” (“Women”) - open classification.

15.3.3. Record holders (record holders) of the category “Boys” (“Girls”) can become champions in the categories: “Juniors” (“Juniors”); “Men” (“Women”) - open classification.

15.3.4. Record holders (record holders) of the Junior category (Junior Women) can become champions in the category: Men (Women) - open classification.

15.4. For age categories of athletes (athletes) whose age exceeds 40 years, records in older categories exceeding records in younger categories are recorded in younger categories up to an open category in men (women).

15.4.1. Record holders (record holders) of the category “Men of Veterans - 5” (“Women of Veterans - 5”) can become champions in the categories: “Men of Veterans - 4” (“Women of Veterans - 4”); “Men of Veterans - 3” (“Women of Veterans - 3”); “Men of Veterans - 2” (“Women of Veterans - 2”); “Men of Veterans - 1” (“Women of Veterans - 1”); “Men” (“Women”) - open classification.

15.4.2. The champions (record holders) of the category “Men of Veterans - 4” (“Women of Veterans - 4”) can become champions in the categories: “Men of Veterans - 3” (“Women of Veterans - 3”); “Men of Veterans - 2” (“Women of Veterans - 2”); “Men of Veterans - 1” (“Women of Veterans - 1”); “Men” (“Women”) - open classification.

15.4.3. Record holders (record holders) of the category “Men of Veterans-3” (“Women of Veterans-3”) can become champions in the categories: “Men of Veterans-2” (“Women of Veterans-2”); “Men of Veterans - 1” (“Women of Veterans - 1”); “Men” (“Women”) - open classification.

15.4.4. Record holders (record holders) of the category “Men of Veterans-2” (“Women of Veterans-2”) can become champions in the categories: “Men of Veterans-1” (“Women of Veterans-1”); “Men” (“Women”) - open classification.

15.4.5. The champions (record holders) of the category “Men of Veterans - 1” (“Women of Veterans - 1”) can become champions in the categories: “Men” (“Women”) - open classification.

15.5. Records in age categories Women (veterans 1; 2; 3; 4; 5 and SOV Athletes) with a barbell weight of 25; 35; 45; 55; 65 and 75 kg are recorded:

15.5.1. Given the limitation of own body weight not more than 60.00 kg.

15.5.2. Given the limitation of own body weight not more than 75.00 kg.

15.5.3. Excluding body weight limit (Absolute record).

15.6. Records in age categories Men (veterans 1; 2; 3; 4; 5 and LPC Athletes) with a weight of 55; 75; 100; 125 and 150 kg are recorded:

15.6.1. Given the limitation of own body weight not more than 75.00 kg.

15.6.2. Given the limitation of own body weight not more than 95.00 kg.

15.6.3. Excluding body weight limit (Absolute record).

15.7. Records in the age categories of Men (veterans 1; 2; 3; 4; 5 and LPC Athletes) with a barbell weight of 175 and 200 kg are recorded without taking into account their own body weight restrictions (Absolute record).

15.8. Achievements in the Baker's Dozen division, exceeding the record results of the Classic Russian Bench Press Division (s) and (or) the Bench Marathon, are counted as record breaking ones in it (in them).

15.9. Achievements of the Classic Russian Press division exceeding the record results of the additional Russian Press in Lightweight Equipment discipline in this discipline are not considered record-breaking, as they are performed according to other rules ("chest rest").

10/15. Achievements of LPC Athletes are registered in the LPC Athletes category only if they are performed using the first type of bench provided for in clause 8.4.1. Chapters 8 of these rules, or using a bench of the second type provided for in clause 8.4.2. Chapters 8 of these rules with the feet on a bench with a stand under the feet.

11/15. Achievements of LPC Athletes made in the categories using the first type of bench, exceeding the results of athletes shown in the categories for the use of the second type of bench, are not counted as a record as performed on other equipment.

12/15. Achievements of LPC Athletes made using a bench of the second type without fixing the pelvis and lower extremities, exceeding the results of other athletes in similar conditions, are counted as record ones.

Regional records.

15.13.1. Regional records are recorded at regional master`s tournaments of a higher level.

15.13.2. The champion of the region may be an athlete:

15.13.2.1. Permanent resident in the region;

15.13.2.2. Passing military or active service in the region;

15.13.2.3. Studying at a higher or secondary special educational institution located in the region;

15.13.2.4. Registered in this regional branch of  "Russian Press Federation".

15.13.3. To register regional records, certified judges not lower than the regional category are required.

National records.

15.14.1. National records can be set at tournaments of a national level, both in their own country, and at open national tournaments in other countries, as well as tournaments and championships of a higher level.

15.14.2. The national record holder can be an athlete - a member of the Russian Bench Press Federation, a citizen of the country.

15.14.3. To register national records, certified judges no lower than the national category are required.

Continental records.

15.15.1. Continental records can be set at tournaments of a continental level, both at tournaments of a given continent, and at open continental tournaments of other continents, as well as world championships.

15.15.2. A continental record holder can be an athlete - a member of the Federation of Russian Bench Press, a citizen of a country located on this continent.

15.15.3. To register continental records, certified judges no lower than the first national category are required.

World records.

15.16.1. World records can be set at continental level tournaments, as well as world championships.

15.16.2. Any athlete can be a world record holder - a member of the Federation of Russian Bench Press.

15.16.3. To register world records, certified judges not lower than the international category are required.
