The rules of the competition division Classic Russian Bench Press.

1. According to the results of the draw, the athletes shall be called up on the platform by the senior judge on the platform in ascending order of the number of lots.

2. After calling for one minute, the athlete must begin the exercise.

3. To accept the starting position, it is allowed to set the feet on the surface of the bench.

4. You can remove the weight from the racks to the arms that are as straight as possible in the elbow joints on your own, or with the help of assistants.

5. The grip of the neck should be closed (the thumb should grasp the bar in the direction opposite to the other fingers).

6. An open grip (when all fingers of one hand are on the same side of the bar neck) is prohibited.

7. After the athlete takes the starting position “Straightened arms” (arms are maximally straightened in the elbow joints), the senior judge commands: “Bench!”.

8. To complete the competitive approach, the athlete is given 5 (five) minutes from the moment the senior judge submits the command: “Bench Press!” It indicates the start of the competitive exercise.

9. During the performance of the competitive exercise, both direct and reverse grip is allowed.

9.1. Direct grip is the position of the hands where 4 fingers of each hand grab the bar from the side of the athlete's head.

9.2. Reverse grip is the position of the hands where the thumb of each hand grabs the bar from the side of the athlete’s head. The athlete's thumb in the starting position is facing his head.

9.3. A grasp is the position of the hands where the hands wrapping the bar are turned in different directions. DISPOSAL is prohibited!

10. It is forbidden to change the direct grip to the reverse and on the contrary during the same approach, for example, during a “pause with a barbell on the chest”

11. Change of grip is allowed only in the following approach, for example, in the division “Russian TROIKA”, “Baker`s Dozen” or “Bench Press Marathon”.

12. Compulsory condition for the test repetition is to touch the chest with the bar (see paragraphs 23.1. - 23.4. Chapters 10. of these rules) and then  bar press up to the “Straightened arms” position.

13. A special account. The first 8 repetitions of each competitive approach in Classical Russian Bench Press, Baker's Dozen; “Russian Bench Press in Lightweight Equipment” and “Bench Press Marathon” are performed with the obligatory “double” order. At the moment when the athlete performs the first bench press movement (after the “Start” command) and again takes the “Straightened Arms” position, the senior judge on the platform gives the command “Stop!”, And after the athlete performs a distinct fixation, the second command sounds (permissive). For example: “-Stop! One!"; “-Stop! Two!"; "-Stop! Three!". Etc.

13.1. The permission to continue the exercise is the number announced by the judge, the number (score). Judge`s order “Stop!” prohibits the continuation of the exercise in any case;

13.2. After completing the test eighth repetition, the senior judge on the platform only gives the score after the athlete has fixed the bar in the “Straightened Arms” position;

13.3. The judge’s score means a counted attempt, if instead of the score the judge’s command or the score is repeated; the athlete has made a mistake;

13.4. To prevent the athlete from being removed from the competition, after the second mistake in a row, the judge gives the command “Stop!” and voices a warning to the athlete. If there are three mistakes in a row, the approach ends with the “At the Racks!”

14. During the performance of the competitive movement, movement and separation of the legs from the support is allowed at any time during the exercise.

15. In the process of performing a competitive exercise, a slight skew of the bar is allowed when lifting and lowering. When a “dangerous move” situation arises which is determined by the senior judge on the platform as critical, the command “-At the racks!” The approach ends.

16. In the process of performing a competitive exercise in any division, “beating off” from the chest is allowed.

17. During the performance of the competitive exercise, double movement of the bar up and down is allowed (except for the Russian TROIKA division).

18. In any case, the achievement of fixing the barbell in the “Straightened Arms” position is considered to be a test attempt.

19. An athlete is allowed to maintain a pause in the movement of the barbell at any time when a competitive attempt is made.

20. The number of rest pauses in the “straightened arms” position is not limited.

21. The number of rest pauses in the “barbell on the chest” position is limited to two attempts.

22. Each attempt to “rest-pause on the chest” is voiced by the senior judge on the platform, after a sufficient time has elapsed for him to inhale and exhale.

23. At the lower point of the press and at the moment of the "rest-pause on the chest», the bar should touch the athlete's body no higher than the collarbone.

24. At the lower point of the press and at the moment of the “rest-pause on the chest”, the bar should touch the athlete’s body not lower than the navel, if the athlete performs an exercise with a naked torso.

25. At the lower point of the press and at the moment of the “rest-pause on the chest”, the bar should touch the athlete’s body not lower than the belt (belt) if the athlete is wearing a tights or T-shirt (shirt) and using a belt (belt).

26. Competitions in the Russian Bench for the "Athletes with Disabilities" category are held necessarily with the "legs on the bench" position using a special bench or with additional support under outstretched legs equal in height to the bench press machine.

27. At the request of the athlete, the LPC is allowed to hold the athlete’s feet on the bench with his hands.

28. At the request of the athlete, the LPC is allowed to fix the athlete's legs (pelvis) to the bench with a special belt.

29. For all athletes, feet are allowed to be placed on the surface of the bench when performing a “rest-pause on the chest”.

Chapter 3. Russian TROIKA.

3.1. The competition task of the division is to gain the maximum total tonnage for three competitive approaches with independently selected rod weights according to the following conditions:

3.1.1. All members of the division are distributed by gender and weight category.

3.1.2. Depending on the actual number of participants in each weight category, general streams can be formed. The formation of streams can occur: among athletes of the same weight category (maximum up to 15 athletes in one stream), and among different weight categories or age categories. If there are less than 10 people in the stream, then an additional rest time of at least 5 minutes between the streams is assigned.

3.2. The rules of the competition in the "Russian TROIKA".

3.2.1. The athlete is given three competitive attempts. The result of EVERY productive attempt in kilograms is counted in the total tonnage.

3.2.2. The result of a competitive approach that was not counted (not completed) is entered into the Document as equal to the value “ZERO” (zero score).

3.2.3. The order of the athletes of one weight category (stream) to reach the platform in each approach is determined by the value of the ordered starting weight of the bar. First, all athletes of the same thread alternately make 1 attempt, then 2 attempt and 3 attempt.

3.2.4. The weight on the bar in kilograms is ordered arbitrarily, but in multiples of 2.5 kg of the total weight of the bar.

3.2.5. The athlete can change the previously ordered weight of the bar in each approach once in each approach (the signature of the judge is mandatory!) And no later than the moment the athlete is called to the platform.

3.2.6. In the current stream, it is impossible to change the weight of the rod less than the weight of the rod of the previous athlete on the competition platform.

For example: an athlete (No. 1) performed a 150 kg approach to the barbell, while another athlete (No. 2) previously ordered 160 kg (in the same approach). Athlete No. 2 has the right to reduce (change) the barbell weight previously ordered, but not lower than 150 kg.

3.3. In the construction of the bench on the competition platform, additional safety stops in height from the fall of the bar on the athlete must be involved (used).

3.4. In the competition division "Russian TROIKA" records are recorded:

a) in the total tonnage;

b) at maximum weight (can be set in any approach from three attempts).
