Exercise 6. Insert the prepositions on, in or into where necessary:

Example: Our flat is … the third floor. - Our flat is on the third floor.

1. There are many people... the park today. 2. There is a girl standing... the bridge. 3. There is no tea... my cup. 4. Put these flowers... the windowsill. 5. Many people... the platform waiting for the train.6.Carl lives … a wonderful house … the centre of the city. 7. The teacher is hanging a picture... the blackboard. 8. There is a beautiful picture... the wall. 9. Put the book... the bag. 10. Put the plates... the table.

 

Exercise 7.Choose the right variant:

Example: There … some books in the bookshelves. - There are some books in the bookshelves.

Exercise 9. Complete the sentences with: “much, many, (a) little, (a) few.”

Example: I have … time. I drink a cup of tea. - I have a little time. I drink a cup of tea.

Exercise 10. Open the brackets using the verbs in the Present Continuous Tense

Example:

Exercise 11. Open the brackets using the verbs in the Past Continuous Tense

Example: My little sister (to sleep) at this time yesterday. - My little sister was sleeping at this time yesterday.

1. Father (to watch) TV at ten o’clock yesterday. 2. I (to go) to bed at nine o’clock yesterday. 3. I (to finish) my homework at nine o’clock yesterday. 4. I (to play) the piano at five o’clock yesterday. 5. He (to begin) to do his homework at four o’clock yesterday. 6. She (to wash) the floor at four o’clock yesterday. 7. He (to get) up at seven o’clock yesterday. 8. She (to fall) asleep at ten o’clock yesterday. 9. Mother (to drink) tea at eleven o’clock yesterday. 10. They (to meet) at the street 2 hours ago.

Exercise 12. Open the brackets using the verbs in the Future Continuous Tense

Example: He (to write) a letter at 5 o’clock tomorrow. - He will be writing a letter at 5 o’clock tomorrow.
