The individual specificity of the interaction of the frontal parts of the neocortex, hippocampus, amygdala and hypothalamus as the basis of ancient temperaments, Pavlov's types and Eysenck's parameters. Testing of the individual behavioral peculiarities: the choice between the probability and reinforcement value, delay in the motor reaction for the sake of more significant reinforcement, comparative efficiency of the artificial and zoosocial aversive stimuli. Typological peculiarities of the functional brain asymmetry.

The Third Lecture.

NEEDS OF HUMAN BEING AND HIGHER ANIMALS. PERSONALITY AND CHARACTER.

Motivation as a object — directed need. Vital, social and ideal (spiritual, cognitive) needs. Their phylogenetic precursors in the most complex unconditioned reflexes (instincts) of the higher animals. Competence drive and the drive to resist compulsion. The Pavlov's reflex of freedom as the phylogenetic precursor of will. The dominating need as a personality essence. The individual manifistation of need to resist compulsion (the will), imitation and saving of forces as the character basis.

Fourth Lecture.

CONSCIOUSNESS AND UNCONCIOUS IN THE BRAIN ACTIVITY. CONSCIOUSNESS AND COMMONFEELINGS.

Communicative nature of consciousness. Involvement of verbal structures of the left hemisphere is the necessary condition of stimulus realize. Subconscciousness is the transition of the primary realized into the sphere of unconcious psychic («Super Ego» by Freud, «personal knowledge» by Polani). Superconsciousness as the creative intuition. The emotional languages of superconsciousness: sense of beauty and humour, conscience. The principal difference between conscience and the sense of duty. Supplementary feature of determinism and freedom of choice.

NEUROBIOLOGY OF CREATION: DOMINANT MECHANISMS AND BRAIN

FUNCTIONAL ASYMMETRY

Variability and the selection of the unpredictable alternatives as the basis of the self development: evolution and creation. Neurodarwinism. Preadaptive function of the Ukhtomsky dominant — a stage of the conditioned reflex generalization. Unconscious (superconscious) of the initial stages of creation, the role of the frontal areas of the right hemisphere. Aesthetic criterion of the intuitive choice. The involvement of the frontal areas of the left hemisphere at the stage of conscious hypotheses selection.

Примечание 1 (к «структурной формуле эмоций» на странице 6)

В бумажной версии книги на странице 6 была приведена буквально следующая формула:

Э = f -П(И_Н-И_С),

Эта формула, очевидно, содержит опечатки, поскольку в таком виде она явно не имеет смысла и является странной смесью двух разновидностей структурной формулы эмоций, которые приводятся автором, в частности, в книге «Эмоциональный мозг»:

Э = ƒ[П,(И_н—И_с),...] («Эмоциональный мозг», стр. 20)

Э = П(И_с—И_н) («Эмоциональный мозг», стр. 64)

В связи с этим, я рискнул заменить на странице 6 формулу с опечаткой на первый из двух ее корректных вариантов.

Примечание 2 (к словам И. П. Павлова, приведенным на странице 76)

В бумажной версии книги на странице 76 в словах И. П. Павлова содержалась ошибка. Там было написано буквально следующее:

«Тем не менее я склонен отрицать...».

То, что это именно ошибка, очевидно, во-первых, просто по смыслу самого высказывания, во-вторых, по отсутствию запятой после оборота «тем не менее», и в-третьих, это же высказывание Павлова, но в правильном варианте («Тем менее я склонен отрицать...»), приведено автором в книге «Эмоциональный мозг» на странице 5.
