Intellectual Property in Cyberspace

Cyberspace it’s area of law presents which a variety of interesting and diverse legal problems. As Internet usage grows, new legal questions associated with the technology continue to surface, and also crime develops, the most common crimes are the infringement of intellectual property rights, particularly copyrights and trademarks.  For example, in the field of copyright, music piracy and piracy of computer software.

In addition to the copyright and trademark issues present on the net, patent law is also becoming a concern. Ecommerce patents are a little bit business method and a little bit software patent, and are causing great concern for entrepreneurs and small businesses who are finding themselves paying royalties for patents. There is also a criminal component, hackers are gaining access to the most sensitive secrets of US companies.
