How Does Your Immune System Works?

A summary

The immune system is an amazing protection mechanism. It defends our organism against millions of bacteria, microbes, viruses, toxins and parasites.

When something dies, its immune system shuts down, and the body is invaded by all sorts of bacteria, microbes, parasites and others. Our immune system does something amazing to keep all of that dismantling from happening when we alive.

When a virus or bacteria invades our body and reproduces, it normally causes problems. Some bacteria are benign or beneficial.

The job of the immune system is to protect body from different infections. It protects us in three various ways.

There are many diseases that, if we can catch them once, we will never catch again. For examples, measles and chicken pox. Cell recognize the virus and produce antibodies for it.

A vaccine is a weakened form of a disease. Many diseases can’t be cured by vaccines. For examples, the cold and influenza. Each time you get such diseases, you are getting a different strains. And only our immune system can defend us.

Leukocytes play an essential role in the immune system by continually scanning the tissues and organs for suspicious signs. As soon as a foreign substances called antigens manages to cut your first line of defense, that is your skin and enters inside your body. It quickly begins to use your body’s vital resources and starts to double up in number within a few minutes, which leads to change in your body’s environment. And when the Leukocytes detect this malicious activity within minutes, you body’s immune system responses get activated. The phagocytes trigger the immune response and orders an army of macrophages and dendritic cells to enter the blood cells and chew the unwanted enemy. While eating the intruders, the phagocytes gather the information about it and send it to the lymphocytes. Then the group of alerted lymphocytes called T-cells quickly takes action and goes in search of infected body cells and destroys them. The B-lymphocytes use the information gathered from antigens and start to produce a special kind of protein called antibodies that lock onto specific antigens and destroy undesired intruders. The B-cells continue to build the antibodies until the worst of the enemies are defeated with the help of T-cells.
