Не забудьте, что перед именем прилагательным или наречием в превосходной степени всегда ставится определенный артикль the.

 

V Глагол

Present Simple

Вы разобрали настоящее простое время, которое используется, когда мы приводим какой-нибудь факт, рассказываем о регулярном, привычном действии.

Оно образуется от первой формы глагола без окончания или с окончанием –s в третьем лице единственного числа.

Для образования вопросов и отрицаний здесь мы используем вспомогательный глагол do (does).

My mother works as a nurse.

Does my mother work as a nurse?

My mother doesn’t work as a teacher.

Present Continuous

Также вы повторили настоящее продолженное время, которое используется, когда мы говорим о действии, происходящем в данный момент или в более широкий отрезок времени, но связанном с данным моментом.

Оно образуется от настоящего времени вспомогательного глагола to be и смыслового глагола с окончанием –ing.

They are dancing now.

Are they dancing?

They are not dancing.

III My day

Unit 1 Student’s day

Read the following text and translate it into Russian.

My day

I get up at 7 o’clock in the morning. After brushing my teeth, I do my morning exercises, wash and dress. Then I have my breakfast. At 8, I leave home and go to the University. Our hostel is situated near the University, so I am there in 10 minutes. Some students live far from the University, so they take a bus or a trolley or even a taxi bus not to be late.

Our classes begin at 8.30 a.m. Usually we have one or two lectures, a seminar and a practical lesson in the laboratory. Once or twice a week we have English. During our English lessons, we read texts, do translations, ask and answer questions, and do all sorts of exercises. We want to learn English well and many students of our University want to go abroad either for work or for higher studies. Some also want to work in England during summer holidays.

At 12 p.m. I usually have lunch at the students’ canteen. After classes I sometimes stay at the University and work in one of the reading halls. I can find practically every necessary book on any subject there, so I don’t need to visit a city library. I study hard because good education is valuable nowadays.

When I return to my hostel I am usually tired, so I have a short rest and cook supper. Then I do my homework. At 11 o’clock I go to bed.

Sunday is my day off. I get up later than usual. I needn’t hurry anywhere on this day and I like it very much. On Sundays, I prefer to go to cinema or theatre in fall, to the skating rink in winter, to the park in spring, and to the riverside in summer. If I have free time during the week I visit my friends, read books, go for a walk, or listen to music.

A student’s life is rather busy these days but we try to find time for work and for fun.
