MY HOBBY

My name is Keat Bright and I'm 15 years old. I've got a lot of hobbies but my favourite hobby is collecting records.

On my twelfth birthday my uncle gave me a long-playing record. At first I was a little bit disappointed because I wasn't very much interested in listening to pop music. The title of this record was "The John Lennon Collection". I wanted to make my uncle happy. Therefore I played the record at once. And what a surprise, I liked most of these songs. This was the beginning of my hobby.

At the moment I have 72 long-playing records and 55 singles. I know that it is an expensive hobby but I like it. I spend nearly all my pocket-money for my hobby. Some of my friends think that I'm crazy and they cannot understand my passion.

Last spring I wanted to buy several records. But all my money was gone. So I decided to look for a holiday-job in the summer holidays. A few weeks later I read in the newspaper: "Newspaper carrier wanted". I applied for this job and I really got it. Now I distribute a local newspaper every Thursday and I get $30 for it. That means one long-playing record and two singles! I only collect pop music, of course. I don't like classical music or folk music. And I'm afraid this will never change.

So, David O. Selznick chose a fa­mous film star of the time, Clark Gable, for the part of the tall and handsome hero, Rhett Butter, but he couldn't find anyone for the part of Scarlett. LESSONS 13-15

OUR COLLEGE

Our Polytechnic College is not just a college; it is a " School of Joy ". The main idea of our college is to create the most comfortable conditions for student's educational activity and creative work, education of a noble and generous personality.

How to achieve it? First of all, the educational process is not usual. Classes are interesting for students, because they consist of discussions on different questions, problems in which teachers and students take part. The relations between teachers and students are based on principles of respect and assistance. Teachers and the staff of our educational establishment do all their bestto develop student's abilities to get knowledge independently. This work gives excellent results. Almost all our students get job after graduating from the college or continue to get education and to improve their professional traits in high educational establishments.

There are several departments in our college:

· Department of informatics;

· Department of economics and accounting;

· Service and design of landscape;

· Consumer goods technology;

· Atomic power-station;

· Fire-safety.

College consists of four buildings, where there are a lot of classrooms, creative laboratories, which are equipped with modern technique. We also have a large library with a conference-room, an Internet-hall, a local office "Intranet", a large assembly-hall, a gym, a medical room, and a canteen. There is a hostel near the college, where students have all necessary conditions for studying and having a rest.
