Exercise 1. Translate the following sentences into Russian paying attention to the Passive Voice. Give several variants if possible.

1. Under conditions of intense heat, such as are found at the center of the sun, hydrogene atoms combine to form helium atoms.

2. Liquid copper and nickel are poured into panel-shaped moulds, then dipped in acid baths and further refined using electrolysis. The rich slime that forms at the bottom of electrolysis baths is gathered up, and from these dregs palladium and platinum are reclaimed as well as zink, cobalt and lead.

3. Although a hypothesis usually develops from the intuition of the scientist, it is based on observations or facts. As evidence is gathered to support a hypotheis and it becomes accepted in the scientific world, it is referred to as theory, for example the theory of relativity.
