It goes without saying that art is a great power. Different works of art have been created to please the eye and to excite emotions.

As for me, I’m fond of music. It appeals to my heart and helps me stay cheerful and active. As any other form of art, music reflects life, people’s ideas (views) and emotions. Classical music helps me feel peace and harmony inside my heart.

Pop music and rap are very popular with teenagers nowadays due to mass media and mass culture.

As for me I prefer rock. It is full of force. It makes me active and energetic. I enjoy listening to music on the Internet or by playing my MP3. My favourite groups are “Linking Park” and “Muse”. I don’t agree with people who say that rock music makes people hate. In my view this music has a lot of positive effects.

 My country is a talented nation.

Belarus is famous all over the world due to its painters. Painting shows moments of life in their beauty. Landscapes show the beauty of nature, portraits – the beauty of a person’s face.

OssipZadkine, Kazimir Malevich, Ivan Khrutsky are famous Belarusian painters, but the most famous is Marc Chagall. He was born in a poor family in Vitebsk. He began to paint in his childhood. But he painted his best pictures in Paris. He developed his own unique style of art. Chagall mixed strong and bright colours with fantasy and religion. Chagall’s works are in the biggest art galleries of the world.

So, art makes people feel a part of global family, because art unites people.

Belarus is a talented nation. It has given birth to many outstanding people in different spheres of life.

Belarusian writers and poets have made a great contribution to world literature. The names of YankaKupala, Yakub Kolas, Adam Mitskevich, VasilBykov are world famous.

The most famous Belarusian artists Marc Chagall, OssipZadkine, Kazimir Malevich are among the greatest painters of the world.

The Belarusian vocal groups “Pesnyary” and “Verasy” have been a great success in Europe. That’s why Belarus can be proud of our creative people.

Do you agree that Minsk is a cultural centre of our country? Why?

Minsk is a capital of the Republic of Belarus, its political, economic and cultural centre. The cultural life in Minsk is very interesting. There you can visit many cinemas, theatres, and concert halls, palaces of culture, a zoo and a circus. The most famous theatres are the Opera and Ballet Theatre and the Yanka Kupala National Theatre. The most interesting museums in Minsk are the Museum of the History of the Patriotic War and the History Museum.

A lot of fairs and art exhibitions, music concerts and cultural events are held in Minsk every month.

Are you good at painting, dancing or singing?

I should say that I’m good at singing. Music is my hobby. When I listen to my favourite group I always join in singing. I think I do it well.
