Theme: London is the capital of Great Britain

Aims:

l Self-studying component:

  1. To get and study new information about London is the capital of Great Britain using professional supplementary literature
  2. To consolidate new lexical and grammar material connected with the theme

Tasks on the theme: you should describe the following:

  1. Geographical position, population, climate
  2. Places of interest, etc.

 

Form of conducting:

  1. To prepare an essay to the theme “London is the capital of Great Britain”
  2. To prepare presentation with slide-show

Criteria of fulfilling:

- The volume of an essay must be 3-4 printing pages (supplements do not belong to the volume of an essay);

- By preparing of an essay it is recommended to use 5-7 different sources;

- The essay must be fulfilled literately;

- Text of an essay must contain references on the used literature;

- Bibliography must be compiled correctly;

- Structure of the essay must contain:

- Title page

- Contents

- Introduction

- Main part

- Conclusion

- Bibliography

Terms of passing:

According to time-table

Criteria of marks:

Volume and contents of the essay must correspond to main criteria of fulfilling.

Literature:

  1. Books, booklets, text-books, etc.
  2. Articles from newspapers, magazines
  3. Internet sites

Control:

  1. To prepare a report for practical lesson according to the theme of the essay;
  2. You may also prepare a report for students’ scientific conference, devoted to the theme: “London is the capital of Great Britain”.

Lexics: Words and word combinations of the theme

Grammar: “Past PerfectTense”, “Future Perfect Tense”

Hours: 4

Aims:

1) To get and study new information about Future Profession

2) To consolidate new lexical and grammar material connected with the theme.

· practical component (operational component):

1) to form students ’ skills on listening (auding), translating the text with a help and without a help of dictionary.

2) to form skills on writing a short summary of the text, summarizing and interpretating it for using in the process of educational - professional communication.

3) to form students’ habits on improving their lexical minimum.

· self -studying component:

1) to form students’ habits on working with professional medical supplementary literature in informative means of communication.

2) to form students habits on enlarging their lexics.

Tasks on the theme:

To write an essay. In your essay you should write about “My Future Profession”

in the following way.

Plan of compiling.

- About future profession.

- Good doctor should be.

- How we should treat our patients.

Form of conducting.

To prepare an essay on the theme: “My Future Profession.”

To prepare 25 test questions on the theme.

To prepare a crossword.

To prepare a table on the grammar theme: “Past PerfectTense”, “Future Perfect Tense”

 

Criteria of fulfilling.

 

Requirements to design and fulfilling of on essay:

• the volume of on essay must be 3-4 printing pages

(supplements don’t belong to the volume of an essay)

• by preparing of an essay it is recommended to use different sources

• the essay must be fulfilled literately, with observance on summary’s culture

• text of the essay must contain references on the used literature.

• bibliography must be compiled correctly.

Introduction

The main part

Conclusion

Bibliography.
