Read the following situations.
* Imagine, that you have symptoms of tachycardia: breathlessness, palpitation, increased heart beating, sense of fear. You must come to a cardiologist. The doctor examines you carefully: listens to your heart, measures blood pressure and pulse rate, takes an electrocardiogram. The cardiologist establishes correct diagnosis and administers proper treatment to you. * Imagine, that you are a cardiologist. A patient comes to you. He has the main symptoms of dyspnoea: breathlessness or shortness of breath by exertion and physical activity. As a cardiologist you must examine the patient carefully: listen to his heart, measure his blood pressure and pulse rate, take an electrocardiogram. You must establish correct diagnosis and administer proper treatment to the patient.
Compile your own dialogues according to this situations. Use information from the texts: “The Heart and the Vascular System”, “The Valves of the Heart”, “The heart and circulation: A Shortness of breath” in these dialogues.

Speaking A. Work on picture to the theme: “The valves of the heart” Look at this picture. Describe it. Speak about the structure of human heart and main functions of heart valves in blood circulation. Picture № 1 “The Valves of the Heart”
Notes: 1- the semilunar valve of the pulmonary artery. 2- the semilunar valve of the aorta.
Compile a short report: “Location and functions of four heart valves”, using this picture and new information from studied texts and dialogues.
Writing B. Compiling Essays to the lexical theme: “The heart and the vascular system” Write short Essays to the following themes: 1. “The structure of the heart”. 2. “The valves of the heart”. 3. “Main characteristics of the heart”. 4. “Location of four heart valves”. 5. “Functions of four heart valves”. 6. “The structure of heart atria and ventricles”. 7.”Muscular structure of the heart”. 8. “The human vascular system”. 9. “Three groups of vessels, consisting the vascular system”. 10. “Main systems of blood circulation”.

To form and to develop the students’ skills on discussing the content of the theme and dialogical speech. Form of conducting: making-up a dialogue, work in pairs.

c) to teach students to read the text with commenting and giving their opinion
