WORK: The dry stone wall that you will be involved is essential for maintaining a historical site called «;the walk of the walls.»; You will restore this dry stone wall using traditional dry stone techniques. The stone used is a typical local volcanic stone (Auvergne volcano region).

You will participate to the work with other international volunteers and a technical supervisor will teach you specific techniques concerning this restoration. The work takes place the morning for 5 hours maximum. Afternoon and weekends are dedicated to activities.

ACCOMODATION: You will be accommodated in the municipal camping in the center of the village. Mattress provided, bring your sleeping bag. You will go by walk to work: you have only 50 meters to walk! Herment is at 830 meters of altitude, bring WARM CLOTHES. You will cook all together in the equipped camping kitchen. There are some shops in the village.

LOCATION: Located at 830 m of altitude, the village of Herment has a remarkable rich heritage. The village offers visitors a unique view of the Monts Dore, those of Limousin and “Le Plomb du Cantal” from the «;Promenade des Walls»; which is included in the inventory of Historical sites. In addition, this rural mountainous area benefits from the tourist attraction of winter resorts and hydrotherapy of Massif du Sancy.

JR16/02 FESTIVAL COUVRE FEU Nantes 08/08-25/08/16 FEST, Age: 18-30. 11 VOLS SPECIAL FEE 50.00 EUR

WORK: Led by the set directors of the association organising the festival, you will participate in setting up and setting donw the festival. This includes the installation of circus tents (where concerts take place), close the site with barriers, arrangement of parking lots, dressing rooms, refreshment stands and restaurants...Planning of the Caravane de Couvre Feu: Monday 8th August arrival of the volunteers, Tuesday 9th August is rest; on the 10th, 11th and 12th August will be the installation of the festival in St Brévin, bringing up of the big tents for the shows (marquees); on the 13th, 14th and 15th August work in the festival on various spots (hosting of visitors, etc.); on the 16th, 17th and 18th August bringing down of the installation in St Brévin and installation of the festival in Frossay, on the 19th, 20th and 21th August work in the festival on various spots (hosting of visitors, etc.); bringing down of the installation in Frossay on the 22nd, 23rd and 24th August, departure of the volunteers on 25th August. Note: tasks a little repetitive but essential, good physical condition required, the organisers of the Caravan are counting on your motivation to help before, during and after the festival but also, work schedules will VARY A LOT according to needs; little time for leisure but the atmosphere is very festive. Volunteers from this site must be especially dynamic and enthusiastic. And of course must be a fan of music!

ACCOMODATION:On your arrival, you will stay as all the other volunteers and organisers at the camping site in St Brévin from 8th to 10th August, and then in Frossay from the 10th of August. Toilets and showers on site. The association provides tents, but you will need to bring a warm sleeping bag and confortable mattress (it can be a karimat or inflatable mattress). Throughout the duration of work, preparing meals will be provided by volunteers from the association (except on the 9th August, you will receive money to buy the food on you own). NB: it can be cold in the evening and humid, it is advisable to bring warm clothes.

LOCATION: Pays de Retz: At the heart of unspoiled landscapes and varied hyphen between Brittany and the Vendee, west of Nantes and bordered by the Atlantic Ocean and the Loire. Enjoying the beach and water sports, beach resorts, charming as Pornic and Saint-Brevin-les-Pins, large sandy beaches dotted with fishing. Walks along the coastal footpath in Bourgneuf Bay, along the Loire estuary, or in swamps and thickets of the hinterland.

JR16/200 BEAUMES DE VENISE – ARCHEO EXPERIMENTATION IN Carpentras 14/08-27/08/16

WORK: If you are passionate about history and archeology, this work camp is designed for you! Here you will have an opportunity to share an archeo-experimentation project with local volunteers and young people from all around the world. In the Castellas area, high up in the castle where the antique Oppidum is located, different tasks will be given to you. Interested in archeological experiences? Very curious? Our first task will be to participate in the construction of a medieval wooden cabin. This cabin will later serve as a welcoming centre for visitors and as a storage place. If you are an apprentice in construction, this is for you too! Come and practice different techniques of traditional construction with stone. You will have the privilege to learn this ancestral technique thanks to the specialists who will work with us and who are willing to pass on their knowledge whilst we reconstruct the stone walls of the antique Oppidum with them. Finally, your task will also consist of pruning and cleaning the area to enable visitors to access the area more easily and have a better view of the basic historical elements. We are planning other work camps for upcoming years. This job is part of a new project: the construction of a real touristic and scientific spot of discovery and experimentation. The idea is to organise visits which will allow visitors to see and understand 25 centuries of history through the artefacts found in the area and to value these artefacts. The work will take place during the morning, (5 hours a day) and you will have 2 free days per week, which will give you the opportunity to explore the community through cultural activities, sports and touristic tours!

ACCOMODATION: There is nothing better than staying on a camp to change your routine! It’s the best way to be able to wake up to the sounds of the cicadas. The campsite is in the heart of the town of Beaumes de Venise, perfect for spending time with the local population. Everyone will sleep in tents with mattresses provided by Jeunesse et Reconstruction. Please remember to bring your sleeping bag! We will have a kitchen, toilets and showers available especially for volunteers inside a building a couple of metres away from the campsite. To make life easier in the camp, the volunteers will cook. The association will not be able to take care of you if you arrive before or stay after the dates that we stipulate. Located between the Dentelles of Montmirail and the legendary Mont- Ventoux of Provence which ages with the region, the town of Beaumes de Venise is full of vineyards and olives which have been warmed by the sun here for thousands of years. You will be able to get a fully historical French experience, thanks to the fact that this town was the seat of the Pope for several centuries before becoming part of France in the 18th century. At the banks of the river Rhône and close to Mont-Ventoux, the county of Venaissin offers a lot of activities to be discovered: Visit the picturesque castles and towns, go on tours through the vineyards, visit Avignon, go on an excursion to Mont-Ventoux and of course, visit wine cellars and taste regional produce.
