Тема: The Role of Books in School Life.

Цілі уроку:

практична: систематизувати лексичний матеріал з теми, сприяти його запам’ятовуванню, вчити працювати в групах, практикувати учнів у читанні текстів про книги та бібліотеки з метою загального та максимально повного розуміння їхнього змісту, формування навичок критичного мислення, вчити учнів складати спеціальні запитання та відповідати на них, висловлювати власні думки у зв’язку з отриманою під час читання тексту інформацією;

освітня: вчити застосовувати у мовленні загальні та спеціальні запитання і відповідати на них, поширити знання учнів з теми "Шкільне життя";

розвиваюча: розвивати мовленнєві здібності учнів, оперативну пам’ять, сприяти вмінню логічно та послідовно висловлювати свої думки вголос, розвивати інформативну компетентність та творчі здібності учнів;

виховна: виховувати толерантне ставлення до думки співрозмовника, культуру спілкування, повагу до оточуючих, сприяти розвитку позитивної мотивації щодо вивчення англійської мови.

Обладнання: підручник "English", зошити, комп’ютер, картки для індивідуальних завдань з лексичними вправами, словники, роздавальний матеріал.

How are you getting on? Tell me what day is it today? What date is it today? The topic of our today's lesson is "The Role of Books in School Life". Today we are going to speak about school life, the role of books in school life, about the books we like to read and about places we can take books from.   Now I want to check your homework. Take sheets of paper and listen to me attentively! Hand in your papers.   Open your books at page 46. Read and translate the text. Let’s one pupil read and another will translate.   Let’s continue with the ex. 4 on p.49. Read the dialogue, and find out the unknown words.   Among the factors that influence your mood you mentioned school: this is a place you spend most of your time in. So school years are the unforgettable time in the life of everyone. It's school where you get acquainted with teachers, friends, interesting books, the world of beauty and unknown things. The books play a very important role in school life. You can discover a big and wonderful world in the books. What things do you usually associate with a book? Answer to my question, using the vocabularies.   Please, listen to the text and pay attention to the meanings of some words. Read and pronounce correctly the words on the blackboard. - cheap – дешевий, - entertainment – розвага, видовище, - eexpensive – дорогий, коштовний, - reasonably – розсудливо, прийнятно, - source – джерело, - thoughts – думки, ідеї, - feelings – почуття, - paper-back (book) – книга у паперовій обкладинці, - equally – однаково. Take the cards, write down your names and surnames. Say if the statements "True" or "False" after the listening of the text. You can check these statements during my reading. If you need I can read it twice. Text Books in Our Life Some people think that as more and more peo­ple have televisions in their homes; fewer and fewer people will buy books and newspapers. Why read an article in the newspaper, when the TV news can bring you the information in a few minutes and with pictures? Why read a novel, when a play on television can tell you same story with color, picture and action? Why read the biographies of famous men and women, when an hour long television programs can tell you all that you want to know? Books are a wonderful source of knowledge and pleasure and some types of books should be in every home. Every home should have a good dictionary. Every home should have an atlas of the world, with large clear maps. It might be expensive, but a good encyclopedia is useful, too, because you can find information on any subject. In addition, it is useful to have on your bookshelves other non-fiction books such as history books, science textbooks, cookery books, books about medicine and health, etc. It is equally important to have some fiction on your shelves, too. Then you can relax with a good story, or from time to time you can take a book of poems off your shelves and read the thoughts and feelings of your favorite poets.   State whether the statements are True (T) or False (F): 1. Television has killed reading. (F) 2. Today, newspapers and magazines sell in very large numbers. (T) 3. Books are an expensive way to get informa­tion and entertainment. (F) 4. Мета уроку: Формування умінь і навичок мовного спілкування учнів з теми уроку.

Цілі уроку:

практична: Практика учнів в говорінні (монологічне і діалогічне висловлювання), вчити працювати в групах, практикувати учнів у читанні текстів про книги та бібліотеки, вчити учнів складати спеціальні запитання та відповідати на них;

освітня: Контроль знань лексичних одиниць по темі, закріплення вимовних навичок, поширити знання учнів з теми "Family";

розвиваюча: Розвиток пізнавального інтересу учнів, розвивати мовленнєві здібності учнів, сприяти вмінню логічно та послідовно висловлювати свої думки вголос;

виховна: виховувати толерантне ставлення до думки співрозмовника, культуру спілкування, повагу до оточуючих, сприяти розвитку позитивної мотивації щодо вивчення англійської мови.

Who is on duty today? Thanks. Let’s start our lesson. Today we are going to speak about the family and its members. We are going to revise the degrees of comparison of adjectives. We'll listen to the text about different families and at the end of our lesson you'll try to tell about your families.   Let’s check your home task. You had to write something about your favorite book characters. I hope that you are ready with it. Who will be the first.   Let's read the text about the Taylors family and find out: How many members there are in the family? Why they think they are the happiest family in the world?   You have just told who is the youngest and the oldest child in this family. But what can you tell about Jack and Sue? Who is younger? Who is older? Can you compare Jane and Ricky (Paul and Clara)? We can compare people, objects and other things with the help of adjectives. How many degrees have adjectives got? Do you remember their names?While discussing the family from the card we used the words young — younger — the youngest and old — older — the oldest. But do all the adjectives form their degrees the same way? What about the adjective interesting? Who can make the degrees of the words good and bad?   Today we spoke about the families and the duties of each member of the family. Who can tell us about his family? What duties have the members of your family got? What are your duties?   Your home task is Ex 3, 4 p. 53and to learn new vocabulary.
