Aims. Didactic aims:

to form the students’ following components of competence:

· Educational (cognitive) component:

5. to form the knowledge on mastering terms from the text “My university”.

6. to form the knowledge of using demonstrative pronouns (this-these, that-those)

7. to form the knowledge of using Present, Past and Future Tenses

8. to form the knowledge of using Present Perfect Tense

· Practical (operational) component:

5. to form students’ grammar habits on the theme “Demonstrative pronouns (this-these, that-those)” “Present, Past, Future Indefinite”, “Present Perfect”

6. to form students’ skills on listening, reading the text with or without dictionary.

· Communicative component:

3. to develop listening, reading, writing and speaking skills.

· Self-studying component:

5. to form the skills and habits using the professional supplementary literature in informative means of communication.

6. to develop students’ vocabulary habits.

Tasks of study: to teach the students the grammar “Demonstrative pronouns (this-these, that-those)” “Present, Past, Future Indefinite”, “Present Perfect”and the theme “My University”, to develop their grammar and vocabulary habits by doing lexico-grammatical exercises, reading and translating the text.

My University

 

Kazakh State Medical Institute was founded on the 20th of April in 1931 and later was renamed to Almaty State Medical Institute (ASMI). In 2001 Kazakh State Medical University named after S.D. Asfendiyarov was awarded the high national status of the university.

The first Institute’s rector was Sandzhar Dzharovich Asfendiyarov who was a graduate of St. Petersburg Medical Military Academy. He was an outstanding statesman, prominent scientist and talented organizer.

Now our university is called as Kazakh National Medical University named after S.D. Asfendiyarov. Nowadays rector is professor Akanov A.A.

There are 8 faculties such as general medicine faculty, pharmaceutical faculty, stomatological faculty etc. Alongside with students of the Republic of Kazakhstan foreign students from Afghanistan, China, India, Pakistan, Tadzhikistan are taught at the university.

In order to enter Medical University young people have to take an entrance examinations on Kazakh, Russian, Maths, History of Kazakhstan and Biology. Only those who successfully pass entrance testing are admitted free of charge. In other cases education is given on the commercial basis.

Our students take in active part in different types of activities such as scientific conferences, sport competitions and other contests.
