(Complex Object)

іменник або займенник в об'єктному відмінку + інфінітив

Об'єктний інфінітивний зворот вживається після присудка, вираженого дієсловами: to know, to believe, to think, to consider, to expect, to advise, to warn, to want, to wish, to permit, to

force, to forbid, to persuade, to encourage, to require, to remind, to find та інших. Перекладається підрядним додатковим реченням або складним додатком.

The electron microscope permitted scientists to examine very small objects.

Електронний мікроскоп дозволив вченим досліджувати дуже малі предмети.

We watched the new equipment be installed in the shop.

Ми спостерігали, як нове обладнання встановлювали в цеху.

Після дієслів to see, to watch, to let, to hear, to feel, to make (примушувати) у Complex Object інфінітив вживається без частки to.

The high temperature made the investigator change the conditions of his experiment.

Висока температура примусила дослідника змінити умови його експерименту.
